Amelia (AP) Pittman

Duke Sociology

AP is a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology at Duke University. They work as a graduate research assistant with the RISE Lab, and have contributed to various lab projects, including the LITE Plus study, the CARES study, and RISE Lab’s work with ZAMI NOBLA. AP’s own research focuses on how differing policy contexts between U.S. states impact population health, with a particular emphasis on the sociopolitical determinants of the health of LGBTQ+ folks, women, and people of color in different states. They previously attended Miami University of Ohio, where they obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Gerontology.
